Copper Brass Radiator Core Designs Explained

By now you know that Radiator Express stocks a complete line of USA made copper brass OEM style radiators for classic cars.  But, did you know that we offer 4 different core design options to solve any and ALL of your cooling needs.

Let's look @ them below.

The Standard Automotive Core

This design is based off the "traditional" dealer original 60's style radiator core.  These updated designs use 1/2 diamter tubes on 9/16 centers.  These setups offer you the highest quality at the most competitive pricing for your stock vehicle application.  Most items on our website will feature this core design.  Our copper brass radiators are featured in both 2 and 3 row versions of standard core.

The High Efficiency Core

Moving to the good ol' 80's production styles, we feature the same upgraded 1/2 tubing on now on 3/8 centers.  This increases our cooling capacity while keeping these items "drop" in OEM fit.  A 4 row copper in this design would clearly outcool any all aluminum core due to the tubes being on 3/8 centers.  This design is known for dependability and performance.   Our copper brass radiators feature again both 2 and 3 row versions of the high efficiency radiator core.

The High Efficiency Tripleflow Core

This very high capacity 3 row construction method allows for the coolant to flow through the core 3 times.  This method reduces the required airflow and time required for fluid to be cooled.  This process results in amazing heat transfer rates.  These designs require the hoses be on opposite sides to allow and require use of an external transmission cooler.

Optima Core

This extreme cooling core uses 1/2 tubes on 5/16 centers.  This process offers a 40% added heat transfer over previously explained methods.  The optima core option is an upgrade for the tripleflow core setup.  Again the inlet and outlet must be on opposite sides and use of an external cooler is required for automatic transmission.
